HVAC Butterfly Valves: Wafer and Lug Type UNIVAL HVAC Series for Heating, Cooling, Chilled Water and Condenser Water Piping

ValveAtlas supplies UNIVAL HVAC series wafer butterfly valves (BWN-0201 DN100-DN300, BWN-0301 gear-box DN350-DN600) and lug butterfly valves (BLN-0201 DN50-DN300, BLN-0301 DN100-DN600 gear box, BLN-0401 double-eccentric DN100-DN600) with ductile iron body, EPDM or NBR seat, 316 stainless stem and lever, gear-box or double-eccentric operator for industrial heating-cooling, HVAC chilled water, condenser water and glycol loops.

Wafer vs Lug butterfly selection

Wafer (BWN series) installs between two flanges — requires both flanges to be bolted through the valve. Used for line service where downstream flange will not be removed for maintenance.

Lug (BLN series) has threaded bolt holes — downstream pipe can be removed while the valve remains isolated and holds pressure against the upstream flange. Used for dead-end service and end-of-line isolation.

UNIVAL HVAC butterfly range

BWN-0201 wafer lever-operated DN100-DN300, BWN-0301 wafer gear-box DN350-DN600, BLN-0201 lug lever DN50-DN300, BLN-0301 lug gear-box DN100-DN600, BLN-0401 lug double-eccentric for bubble-tight shutoff DN100-DN600. Body ASTM A536 ductile iron, disc EPDM-encapsulated ductile iron or nickel-aluminum-bronze, seat EPDM (water) or NBR (oil), stem 316 stainless, PN10 / PN16 / ANSI Class 125 / Class 150 flange compatibility.

Chilled water primary loop isolation, chiller evaporator inlet/outlet, condenser water tower isolation, cooling tower sump drain, heating hot water main isolation, boiler inlet/outlet, variable primary flow (VPF) plant bypass, DHW mixing valve isolation, swimming pool filter bypass, glycol snowmelt loop isolation.
