Stainless Steel Valves
Threaded stainless steel ball valves are the usual small-bore isolation valve on water, air, steam condensate, chemical and food lines. Body, ball and stem are CF8 (304) or CF8M (316) stainless steel; the 1000 WOG rating corresponds to about 69 bar at ambient temperature.

Overview
The two-piece body is economical; in the three-piece body, the end pieces stay in the line while the center body is removed to replace seats and seals. Threads are BSP (ISO 228-1 / ISO 7-1) or NPT (ASME B1.20.1); for welded lines, three-piece versions with socket-weld (SW) and butt-weld (BW) ends are used. A lockable lever is provided, and actuators can be mounted on an ISO 5211 mounting pad on request.

Documentation and testing
On industrial projects the documentation package matters as much as the valve. We confirm the certificate and test scope for every line item at quotation stage:
- EN 10204 3.1 material certificates for pressure-retaining and wetted parts, traceable by heat number
- EN 10204 3.2 with third-party inspection, on request
- Pressure test reports to API 598 or EN 12266-1: shell, seat and, where specified, gas tests
- Fire-test certificates (API 607 / ISO 10497) for fire-safe type-tested designs
- PMI reports for alloy and stainless materials
- Dimensional, visual and coating inspection records
- PED 2014/68/EU CE declaration for equipment within its scope
- NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance statement for sour (H₂S) service

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between BSP and NPT threads?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads have a 55° thread angle and NPT (American National Standard taper pipe) threads a 60° angle; the thread form and, in most sizes, the pitch also differ. Mating one with the other causes leaks, so select a valve that matches the thread standard of the line. NPT is standard in North America; BSP (ISO 228-1 / ISO 7-1) is common in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Can a threaded stainless steel ball valve be used on steam?
On standard PTFE-seated valves, the allowable pressure falls as temperature rises; they can be used to a limited extent on low-pressure steam and condensate lines. For continuous steam service, a valve with suitable seats (RPTFE, metal) or a globe valve should be selected.
